Where did the summer go?!

I am back at home in Indianapolis now, but Grandma has lots of pictures to post.  I had such a fun summer in Minnesota!  The ride going home was fun.  We were supposed to take the train from St. Paul to Indianapolis, but the train was 4 hours late so we got to take a bus instead.  BUT... we DID get to take the train from Chicago to Indianapolis!  That was AWESOME!  We got to Indianapolis around midnight, and I was soooo tired.

The next day, we went to Steak n Shake and then to Mommy and Whitney's wedding reception.  I got to wear a beautiful dress, and Grandma put my hair up high for me.  It was so fun!  The party theme was Circus/Carnival, so there were lots of fun decorations.  I got to dance with Mommy and Whit, and I got my picture taken a lot.

I started first grade already, and I love my teacher!  Lots of my friends are in my class, too, so I really like it.

Here are some pictures!  Enjoy!

This is the bike and helmet Grandma got for me...

These are my hermit crabs...

Jester was sad because I was leaving Minnesota to go home...

Hi!!!!!!!!!!

I hope you had a Happy July the 4th!  We did!  We went to the dog park, and we got very tired!  I snuggled up with the dogs on the way home and napped...

When we got home, I played with a slingshot rocket that Grandpa gave me.  Unfortunately, I shot it up onto the garage roof!  Grandpa tried to wash it down with the hose, but that didn't work.  So he tried throwing a rope with a glove attached, and that worked!  It fell in the gutter, but Grandpa is tall enough to get it out of there.  That was SO FUNNY!

For our 4th of July dinner, we had hot dogs and potato chips and pickles.  We decided to make a red, white and blue dessert!  Grandpa made shortcakes, and grandma colored the whipped cream blue.  The strawberries were the red.  YUM!

We went down to the River to watch the fireworks.  THEY WERE AWESOME!  Some of them were hearts and smiley faces!  How do they DO that?!!  There were some nice people there who let me hold a couple of sparklers - cool!  The best part was, I got to stay up SO LATE!  The fireworks didn't start until 10:15 at night, so I didn't get to bed until about midnight!  I was tired, but it was a great day.

One of the other things I did was draw a giraffe in chalk, allllllll down the whole backyard sidewalk, from the back door to the garage.  Grandma and Grandpa helped me!

Of COURSE, we have been doing more mystery shopping.  Grandma said I am her trainee.  I am really good at helping her remember things, and I always check the restrooms for her when we go to a restaurant.  I make sure the floor is clean and there is enough soap and paper towels.  My favorite place to mystery shop is when we get to go to Costco.  They give out samples!  One day, we had steak, and chocolate cake, and fruit snacks, and lemonade, and popcorn, and pickles, and pizza, and yogurt... and I don't remember what else.  We ate dinner late that night!

Sometimes we get to do really neat stuff... like, ride on a two-story carousel at the mall!

One day, I saw these weird red and white striped sticks by the fire hydrants.  Grandma told me that they stick up out of the snow, when the snow gets deep, so that nobody runs over the fire hydrant when they plow the snow.  I couldn't believe the snow gets that deep in Minnesota!  That's WAY over my head!

I like to ride in the race car strollers at the mall.  Grandma says it keeps me out from under her feet.

One day, we went to a Chinese grocery store.  It was stinky!  But they had all kinds of yummy snacks. They had live frogs!  And crabs!  And crawdads and fish and oysters and snails!  This is a lion statue that was by the front door.  I was trying to make the same face as him...

We got to go back to Valleyfair, AGAIN!  This time, grandma had to buy cokes at five different places, and give them prizes if they did everything right.  It was awesome, there were no lines for ANYTHING!  We rode the Monster (Octopus) twice, and we rode the big rollercoaster twice!  Grandma accidentally lost her wallet on the rollercoaster, but when we went back - they had found it.  *WHEW*!!!

Something really cool happened, too... I got to be FAMOUS!  We watched a show, and one of the singers came down and sang to me, then made me get up and dance with her while she sang!  She was pretty!  I told Grandpa that I will talk to the paparazzi if they show up, but ONLY ONE TIME.

I ended up getting a new fish, because the carnival goldfish didn't make it. :(  Instead, we got a betta.  He is really pretty!  He is a double-tailed male, and he is white with blue streaks.  He is so healthy and he shows off all the time!   When we came out of the Petco, it was funny because somebody with a car JUST like grandma's parked right next to her, and she tried to get in the wrong car!!!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!

The scariest thing that happened, was that I lost my Nintendo DS yesterday.  We went to Costco, then to a thrift shop, then to Trader Joe's, then Petco.  When we got home, I could not find my DS!  Grandpa searched the car.  I was sooooooooooooooooo sad. :(  I cried, but I didn't give up hope.  Grandma called around to everyplace, and guess what???  SHE FOUND IT!  It was at Trader Joe's.  I forgot that I took it in, and I left it at the sample station when I got a Root Beer Float sample.  OOPS!  I will be sooooo much more careful from now on!  Grandma said SHE will, too!  We are the luckiest people on earth.  She got her wallet back, and I got my DS back!  We had a pizza party, with hats, to celebrate!

Today, we took Grandpa to the airport again.  He has to go to New York for work, so me and Grandma have ourselves to each other for 16 sleeps!  That's 17 days.  Then, another week or so after that, and I will be going home!  Seems like the summer has gone so fast.  Grandpa and Grandma are both coming with me, so we can go to Mommy and Whitney's party.  I can't wait!  I still have a lot of fun stuff to do here in Minnesota though... there's a zoo, and swimming, and maybe we'll even get to go to Valleyfair AGAIN!  But THIS time, we won't have to do any work.  Just have fun.

Talk to you soon!

Love,

Hi guys!  I am having so much fun!

Grandma and I went to ValleyFair last week, and I rode my first rollercoaster!  I was a little scared at first, but it was SO FUN!  We rode lots of rides:  The Monster (which is like The Octopus), a train ride, the Mad Mouse (I can see why he was so mad!  That ride was scarrrrrr-reeee!), the High Roller rollercoaster, the Tilt-A-Whirl, and a Viking Ship that went alllll the way upside down and over!  Grandma was scared to ride that one, but I held her hand and told her it would be OK.  She kept telling me to shut my eyes, but I was liking it too much.  I think she was scared, though.  We rode some rides where we got all wet, and that was fun!  Then, we went to the Water Park and had a blast!  They had a wave pool, and the waves were awesome and fun.  We get to go back to ValleyFair on Monday, because Grandpa Peter is going out of town again.  I might want to ride another rollercoaster... and I definitely want to swim at the water park again!

We have been doing lots of mystery shopping, too!  Today we went to a Costco, and they were giving out samples.  I asked Grandma if she thought it was a 'wonderland'.  She said it was pretty cool, but it would only be a wonderland if there was chocolate involved!  Tomorrow we get to mystery shop at a pet store and a Cinnabon shop.  I think Grandma's job is so cool!

Here are some pictures from the past week... talk to ya later!

Love and kisses,

Sunday, 6-23-13

Hi!  I have done some fun stuff this past week!

Grandma and I did some more mystery shopping.  I got a really cute cat-purse.  I named her Julia, and Grandma bought her a purple pet tag at Petco!  She's awesome.  Here is a picture...

We went to the library again, and I had a chance to play on the playground there.  That was totally cool!  We went to breakfast at the Highland Cafe, and I got a huge waffle with strawberries and whipped cream.  YUM!

I did some crafts this week.  I made a huge family tree, and we framed it and put it on the wall!  Grandma said it's hard to get a good picture of it, but here is one.  You get the idea. :)

A couple of days this week, we both felt icky.  Our tummies felt yucky.  I even had a nosebleed!  It got SOOOOO HOT! Grandpa was out of town, and so we ate artichokes and watched a lot of TV.  I like to snuggle with Ricky and Jester.  They love me!

So when we felt better, it was nice.  Grandpa came home on Friday, and we picked him up at the airport.  We had to hurry home, because I made him a chalk sign that he would see on the ground when he walked out the garage door.  It was getting ready to rain.  I was worried that his surprise would wash away!

For dinner, we went to Smashburger.  The weather was NASTY!  There were trees and tree limbs falling down all over the place, and it was raining SO HARD!  Grandpa was the hero, and he ran out into the rain and got the car, and picked us up under the roof so we wouldn't have to run in the rain.  Then, he had to dodge the huge tree pieces on the road, and swerve from lane to lane while the rain was CRASHING on the roof, and it was thundering and lightning.  OH MY GOSH!  It was scary.  When we got home, the power was out!  So, we had flashlights and candles.  There were loud crashes all night long from thunder and lightning.  The next day was normal.

Today was fun!  We went to a Carnival!  Grandma had to do some mystery shopping there.  The sun finally came out, but the ground was wet and yucky!  I was glad I was wearing flip flops.  I got to ride a dinosaur ride... I had a carmel apple with sprinkles, and some funnel cake... and, Grandma won me a goldfish!  Her name is Pangur Ban.  I named her after the cat in 'Secret of Kells'.  As we were leaving the carnival, we saw something awesome... a Bald Eagle!  He was flying right over us.  Grandma told me to wave to him.  He flapped his wings and flew closer over our heads, then turned around and flew the other way.  I think he was checking us out.

So, that's all for this week!  Love you!
